Your Head To Toe Self Care Guide

Taking care of ourselves means more than ever before in the year 2020. It’s safe to say that we’ve all been under more stress than usual in the last few months, so prioritizing true self care is a must. Check out a few pantry DIYs to help you unwind with some well-deserved R&R.

WAKE UP FACE MASK

You can’t beat a homemade face mask full of superhero ingredients.

Coffee is a great exfoliant, and helps to invigorate and awaken skin by increasing blood flow.

Honey is naturally antibacterial, which makes for awesome at-home acne prevention and treatment.

Avocado is rich in fatty acids, and contains powerful components such as Potassium, Vitamin E, and more-- all of which are great moisturizers.

Here’s a recipe for an easy brightening face mask:

Ingredients:

2 tsp coffee grounds

1 ½  tsp raw or Manuka honey

¼ of an avocado

5 drops of your favorite facial serum (optional)

Step 1: Mash the avocado in a bowl.

Step 2: Combine with your honey and coffee grounds.

Step 3: Optionally mix in your favorite facial serum. Continue to mash and stir to combine.

Step 4: Apply to your face and leave on for 15 minutes.

Step 5: Rinse your face with lukewarm water and admire your glowing, moisturized, and awakened skin.

Don’t stop at your face. Your toes need some love, too.

DETOX  FOOT SOAK

Get ready to be  soothed from the feet up.Epsom salts work to draw outtoxins while simultaneously soothing any sore muscles. Black tea contains tannic acids which help to keep yousweat-free and fresh, and the essential oils arearomatherapeutic. Deep breath, everyone.

Ingredients:

7 cups water

½ cup Epsom salts

4 bags black tea

3 drops of your favorite essential oil (optional)

  1. Fill a basin or bowl with 7 cups of hot water along with the Epsom salt and tea mixture.
  2. Optionally add 3 drops of your favorite essential oil. (Some essential oils can beirritating to the skin, so use them sparingly!)
  3. While the tea steeps and the water reaches a comfortable temperature, assemble all your relaxation necessities: a glass of wine, a magazine, maybe even a nearby puppy if you have one!
  4. Soak your feet for 15 minutes or more. Sip your wine, read your mag, and relax. Give your lips a treatment of their own with our Lip R&R.
  5. After soaking, take a coarse towel or a pumice stone to remove excess dead skin. Don’t go easy  on those tricky calluses and heels! The goal is to achieve baby-butt smoothness, but be careful not to go too hard and irritate your skin.
  6. Rinse your feet in the basin again and discard the water.
  7. Finish up your spa treatment with a pedicure. Try using our Nail Artist shades Big Night Out or Liquid Assets for timeless colors that are great for Fall. Top it all off with On The Top Glossy Top Coat for a long-lasting gel-like finish.
